Many people who have difficulties going up and down stairs due
to arthritis, old age, or muscular related diseases. For these
peoples a stairlift can be installed to help safely use the
stairs. Stairlifts are home mobility aids that are used to carry
an individual up and down the stairs. A rail system is attached
to the stairs and a chair or small platform is sent up and down
the stairs.
There are several different manufacturers of stairlifts. Acorn
is a company that has been manufacturing stairlifts since 1992.
Originally they bought and sold new and refurbished stairlifts.
The demand grew and they decided to manufacture their own
stairlifts to ensure that they could meet the demand, while
still maintaining a high level of safety and dependability.

their competitor's stairlifts.
Today Acorn is one of the largest distributors of stairlifts
both domestically in the US and abroad. Their US distribution
center is in Orlando Florida and their company headquarters is
in the UK. They led the way in developing the battery powered
stairlift. When they began manufacturing battery powered
stairlifts, no other manufacturers were making them, but now
almost all manufacturers offer them.
Acorn manufactures more than 30,000 stairlifts every year. They
are highly respected in the stairlift industry and have
distribution centers all over the world.
