A Buying Guide To Straight And Curved Stairlifts

from:

If you have difficulty climbing the stairs, then the ultimate
solution for you is a stairlift which will carry you up and
down, and thus free you of the dependency and assistance of
other people In UK, there are many manufacturers who provide
different kinds of stair lifts which is especially designed to
meet your needs The prices of stairlifts vary from one
manufacturer to the other, and are usually determined on the
basis of the features that are included.

You can either buy a stair lift or rent it. However, renting one
may not always be feasible, because the stairlift would then be
according to the specifications of someone else's staircase, and
it might be difficult for you to find a stair lift that is
according to the specifications you require. The stair lift you
would need depends on whether your staircase is straight or
curved. Curved stairlifts are usually more expensive than
straight ones, but they are worth the investment.

When buying a stairlift, it is always good to compare prices
before making any decision. Looking around and analysing the
features and prices of various stairlifts would make it easier
for you to choose the right one. It is always better to choose a
local company for the stair lift as the people from the company
would be able to visit your house and determine the product
which would best suit your staircase.

Straight stairlifts are for the staircases that don't have a
curve, and are straight from the bottom end up to the top.
Straight stairlifts are usually cheaper than curved ones, and
can be found easily. If you don't want to spend too much money
on a new stairlift, you can also get a used stairlift. Whether
you are buying a straight or curved stairlift, you should
preferably get it from a company which has a good reputation.
They would install the stairlift for you, and would also provide
services if required later on. The good companies don't charge
any money for the installation. So, you should make sure that
you don't pay any extra quotation for the installation of the
stairlift. Most of the stairlifts are fitted along the
staircase, but this may not be possible if the staircase is too
narrow.

If you have a spiral staircase or one which has turns in it, you
would require a curved stairlift. It is difficult to get a
suitable used curved stair lift because every staircase has its
own design and measurement, and it is not very probable that
someone would have exactly the same staircase as yours. Curved
stairlifts are relatively more expensive. In order to save
money, sometimes two straight stairlifts can be used instead of
a curved one, but the issue with it is that it requires you to
change the seat in the middle of the stairs which may be
dangerous, and can sometimes cause injuries as well.

You should be clear about the features that you require in your
stair lift, and before buying any stairlift, you should call
different companies and ask any questions you have in mind so
that you are clear about the alternatives you have and can
decide as to which one is the best.
